Asha Bhosle Biography: Veteran Singer Asha Bhosle shared a throwback pic on Instagram on 6 February 2022. She wrote "Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the. Didi and I (Those childhood days. Sister and I)". Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar died at the age of 92 on 6 February 2022 at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital after being admitted to its intensive care unit with COVID-19 symptoms.

Asha Bhosle was also trained by her father Deenanath Mangeshkar in classical music like her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar. She is an Indian playback singer and entrepreneur. She is known for her versatility as a singer. Her career started in about 1943 and has expanded over seven decades. She has done playback singing in over a thousand movies. Also, she has recorded various private albums and participated in several solo concerts in India and abroad.

Mariam’s story

My name is Mariam Mujoma, a former school dropout, and victim of sexual abuse and domestic violence.

I am a mästare student, holding a Bachelor of Arts with Education, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation of the prestigious Makerere University, a Head Teacher with over ten years experience in education service ,an entrepreneur and a co-founder of Hindu Asha Foundation.

I am sharing my life story to inspire and encourage ung girls and women out there encountering challenges in attaining quality education and socio - economic mobility.

From a school dropout to a Head Teacher

I dropped out of school after having been sexually abused and become a mother at the age of 12 just after inom had completed primary sju (P7). A child taking care of another child at such a tender age was difficult and even then i did not see the possibility of going back to school. inom thought that marriage was the only option inom had left and inom never saw any one

Hindu Asha ,a Ugandan with an Egyptian origin, born to a Hajji and a Pastor in Jinja, attended her primary at Main Street Primary School and went to Wanyange girls’ school, Nabisunsa girls’ school for her O' level and later went to Kawempe Moslem School for A' level. She later joined Makerere University Kampala in 2004 and pursued a Bachelor of Arts with Education and later a Masters of Arts in Economics.

Gifted in many ways, the singer was a politician and a sports woman at the same time. She represented Makerere University on several occasions in hand ball, chess, and volley ball in the East Africa university games. With her charisma, eloquence, ambition and influence, she became the first fresh culture minister for Mary Stuart hall and the first woman presidential aspirant for Makerere University Education Students Association (MESA) in 2004/2005.
