Indian actor Pankaj Tripathi was born on September 28, , and he primarily performs in Hindi films. Among the many honours he has received are two National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award. Tripathi got small roles in films including Omkara (), Raavan (), and Agneepath (), and a supporting part in the TV show Powder () after studying acting at the National School of Drama.
After becoming well-known for his performance in the crime movie Gangs of Wasseypur () directed by Anurag Kashyap, Tripathi went on to play a number of noteworthy supporting parts. Anurag Kashyap (born 10 September ) is an Indian film director and actor known for his works in Hindi cinema. He is the recipient of four Filmfare Awards. For his contributions to films, the Government of France made him a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in
After writing a television serial, Kashyap got his major break as a co-writer in Ram Gopal Varma's crime drama Satya () and made his directorial debut with Paanch, which never had a theatrical release due to censorship issues. He then went on to direct Black Friday (), a film based on the namesake book by Hussain Zaidi about the Bombay bombings.
