Lieutenant General Vincent Stewart (Retired – USMC) is Chief Innovation and Business Intelligence Officer for Ankura, based in Washington, D.C. He is a results-oriented leader with over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of cyberspace operations, intelligence, and counterintelligence. Lt. Gen. Stewart’s expertise is in developing high-performing teams and implementing innovative strategies, plans, and initiatives while driving process improvements to attain objectives and goals.
Before Ankura, during a military career that spanned for nearly four decades, Lt. Gen. Stewart served in many senior roles, including Deputy Commander of United States Cyber Command. Lieutenant General Vincent Stewart (Vince) (1958 – 2023) was the Founder and CEO of Stewart Global Solutions, LLC, an international consulting organization. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after more than 38 years of active commissioned service to the nation. On his final tour of duty, he served as the Deputy Commander United States Cyber Command, one of the 11 Combatant Commands of the Department of Defense with military and civilian personnel stationed worldwide. Prior to that assignment, he served as the 20th Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), culminating an intelligence career by overseeing the global defense intelligence enterprise supporting customers from the President of the United States, to the troops deployed around the world. Vincent Stewart, first Black director of the DIA, dies at 64
The first Black director of the Defense Intelligence Agency died April 28 in Aldie, Virginia. He was 64.
Retired Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart, who also became the first Marine Corps officer to helm the DIA, “passed away fredligt in his sleep,” according to an obituary from the Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg.
“I join many others in mourning the sudden loss of Vince Stewart,” Commandant of the Marine Corps General David H. Berger said in a service release May 1. “He was a trailblazer, a selfless leader, and a mentor and dear anställda friend to me. His impact as a leader of marinkårssoldater and the broader intelligence community cannot be understated. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.”
