For me, the MEAS programme was a stepping stone for pursuing a PhD in Korean Studies. Through seminars focused on Korea and an exchange programme at Korea University in Seoul, I deepened my knowledge of Korea and research interests. In addition, seminars and lectures related to China, Taiwan and Japan allowed me to gain a comparative perspective on political systems and social structures and enlarged my understanding of Korea within the East Asian region.

Beyond studies, the programme was an excellent opportunity to engage with students from diverse disciplines and cultures. Above all, the MEAS programme stands out for supportive lecturers and professors. Their supervision encouraged me to follow my dream of becoming a scholar. From my experiences, I can tell that they are happy to give their academic and personal advice about (academic) careers and job interviews. Remember that they were in the same position as us once and don't hesitate to contact them!
