    Orson Welles was an extraordinary American movie director, actor, and scriptwriter who influenced the cinema, radio, and theatre. His birth occurred in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1915, and at a tender age, he was acknowledged as a child virtuoso in many art forms. Welles lost his parents when he was only fifteen years old; he rapidly rose to prominence as a theatre director, mainly thanks to his 1937 production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar in a modern fascist context. This production gave Welles critical recognition and made him a bold and innovative director.

    Welles gained his first national attention at age 23, with his infamous broadcast of The War of the Worlds in 1938 when he allegedly scared the Americans with fake news of an interplanetary invasion.
    After the success of The War of the Worlds, Welles was recruited by RKO Pictures to go to Hollywood, where he was given almost total autonomy. He came up with Citizen Kane in 1941, which is on record as being one of the best movies

    Orson Welles was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on May 6, 1915. Though he rarely spoke about his childhood or his family, it is known that his parents separated when he was 6 years old, his mother died when he was 9, and six years later, Welles's father, an alcoholic, also died, leaving Orson Welles an orphan by the age of 15. bygd 16, he had left school to pursue an acting career. As a result, Welles "essentially didn't have a childhood" (Lennon et al). His creative skills were constantly praised from an early age. Welles said, "I was spoiled in a very strange way as a child, because everybody told me, from the moment I was able to hear, that I was absolutely marvelous, and inom never heard a discouraging word for years..." (Lennon et al).
