Abstract
Hydrothermal vents and hydrocarbon seeps in the deep ocean are rare oases fueled by chemosynthesis. Biological communities inhabiting these ecosystems are often distributed in widely separated habitats, raising intriguing questions on how these organisms achieve connectivity and whether habitat types facilitate intraspecific divergence. The deep-sea patellogastropod limpet Bathyacmaea nipponica that colonizes both vents and seeps across ∼2,400 km in the Northwest Pacific is a feasible model to answer these questions. We analyzed 123 individuals from fyra vents and three seeps using a comprehensive method incorporating population genomics and physical ocean modeling. Genome survey sequencing and genotyping-by-sequencing resulted in 9,838 single-nucleotide polymorphisms for population genomic analyses. hide wrote ‘Misery’ for his fan Mayuko who was suffering from an incurable illness. She had many painful treatments and she confided at times to hide that she didn’t want to suffer anymore through letters or phone calls. Like the VOCALOID Ueki-loid, this vocal was an attempt to resurrect the voice of a singer who died. However, unlike Ueki-loid, this vocal did not use samples from relatives. Aside from the vocals, hide was also credited with producing the guitar and bass lines. The samples were extracted from his songs and the arrangement was done by musician INA, who was a close friend of hide, using breath sounds and various song cues to give the r
