He married María Teresa de Austria on 9 June 1660, in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Basses-Pyrénées, France. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 1 September 1715, in Versailles, Île-de-France, France, at the age of 76, and was buried in Île-de-France, France.
