Biography

Dr. Bruno Klaholz studied chemistry at the University of Karlsruhe (Germany), carried out a PhD in Biochemistry and X-ray crystallography on nuclear receptors at the University of Strasbourg at the IGBMC and then began to focus on cryo-electron microscopy during his postdoctoral training at the Imperial College in London (UK). He holds the position of a French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) Research Director at the Centre for Integrative Biology (CBI) in the IGBMC Integrated Structural Biology Department, Head of the French Infrastructure for Integrated Structural Biology (FRISBI) and member of the European Infrastructure for Integrated Structural Biology (Instruct-ERIC), which are both hosted at CBI/IGBMC. Ursula Apitzsch is since 1993 Full Professor of Political Science and Sociology at Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main, and since October 2016 Senior Professor in the field of the History of Political Ideas. She is member of the Board of Directors of the Frankfurt Centre for Women’s and Gender Studies.From 2000-2002 she was Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Since 1998 she is a board member of the Research Committee “Biography and Society” of the International Sociological Association.
She has published broadly in the fields of the history of ideas, culture, migration, and biographical policy-analysis. She has excellent experience in empirical social research - with special regard to qualitative methods - and has been the leading researcher in several European research projects on different generations of migrant groups,
